From the stately drawing room with its magnificent 18th century French mirrors to the dining room and its splendid fireplace made of the marital bed of James VI, Broomhall House is truly a remarkable place and a wonderful historic venue

As one of Scotland’s leading country houses and the ancestral seat of the Earls of Elgin and the descendants of Robert the Bruce, Broomhall has all the historical credentials and architectural kudos to please the most picky film location manager. As a private house, we can offer an incredibly high level of flexibility and freedom for film and camera crews. And because the house has never been open to the general public, it is not generally immediately identifiable, making it tremendously adaptable from an editorial point of view, and something of a hidden gem as a Scottish film location.
